摘要
张爱玲的小说在精神上深受中国传统人情小说中的“世情”传统与“言情”传统的影响。她的小说与世情小说的契合之处在于共通的对于世态人情的兴趣,同时,由于对末世的绝望和对人性的悲观,它们都得出了世情虚无的结论。张爱玲小说中的言情经历了“怀疑———肯定———彻底幻灭”三个阶段,在赋予“情”以正面意义时,它企图依靠言情以超越、抵抗世情的虚无,这与言情传统相当契合,但由于“情”的力量极为脆弱,言情最终被世情吞没,从而使得她的小说最终走向对“情”的彻底幻灭。
This paper points out that Eileen Chang's novels and stories were under the influence of the traditional Chinese fictions of human life on the spirital level, including panoramic fictions and romantic love stories. Chang's fiction and the traditional panoramic fictions share a common interest on the practical and psy- chological state of Chinese people's existence, as they all took a pessimistic view on their decadent eras, drawing the conclusion that the world is of nihility. The joint point between Chang's fiction and the traditional love stories is their similiar attempt to resist such kind of nihility by means of love, whose power is not strong enough to avoid a pessimistic ending of disillusion.
