摘要
硅藻土是由浮游硅藻枯死后,经分解、溶解后在海底沉积形成。硅藻土颗粒度小,多孔,比表面积大,SiO2含量高并含有一定量的Al-2O3。它在我国非金属矿藏中占有重要地位。长期来,由于硅藻土中含有Fe2O3等杂质,限制了它的应用,尤其是在玻璃行业中的应用。 国外学者在用硅藻土制备玻璃方面作了大量的工作,他们对硅藻土进行水热处理。
Na2O-CaO-Al2O3-B2O3-SiO2 system glass, insulating glass and fibre glass were made from diatomite by the authors. The glass structure was investigated by Eaman spectra, and a comparison between the glass made from chemicals and the glass made from diatomite either processed by hydrothermal treatment or unprocessed was carried out by determining specific gravity, elasticity modulus, thermal expansion coefficient and electric resistance etc. The possibility of using diatomite as raw material to make glass is discussed with respect to the melting of glass and the properties of glass.
