The article discusses Jack Neo Chee Keong, the iconic film-maker of Singapore, and his outstanding contributions to the re-emerging film-making in this Southeast Asian country. Neo entered the filmdom from his career as a TV comedian and host. Having been exploring for nearly ten years, he establishes himself as the most prolific and commercially successful film director of Singapore. With the focus on the social concerns of Singaporean and the unique representation of local culture, his films come to be the intrinsic part of popular culture as well as the film brand of Singapore.
