摘要
从语义学角度分析了科技英语词汇的一词多义现象产生的原因。指出英语科技词汇的一词多义现象主要出现在准科技词汇和共用科技词汇两大类词汇中,其形成的基本模式为名称转移和意义转移,常用的方法仍为语言学和语义学上一些共同的基本方法,如提喻、换喻和隐喻等。
From the viewpoint of semantics, this paper analyzes the causes of English polysemies for science and technology. The author points out that quasi-EST words and core-EST words often embody English polysemies, whose basic formation are normalization transfer and meaning transfer. Such semantic ways as metonymy or simile and so on usually give birth to English polysemies for science and technology.
