This paper introduces the design and implementation of EPA function blocks and EPA protocol in detail, introduces briefly the linker of EPA function blocks and EPA protocol, and elaborates the implementation scheme of EPA function blocks in field devices and network control system. EPA standard is a real time dynamic network communication protocol for industrial automation and it is applied to industrial field devices successfully.
