Fairway Field straddles the Henderson-Anderson county line, toward the center of the East Texas Basin. It was discovered and began production in 1960. Fairway contains a STOIIP of 400 MMBO, and total production had exceeded 217 MMBO by 2003. The volatile oil was close to saturated. Reservoir is Lower Cretaceous James reefal buildup limestone, which consists of skeletal grainstones/packstones and bivalve-rich wackestones. Average porosities of the various lithofscies are relatively similar (7%~11%) but average permeabilities are inhomogenous (higher to 37~44×10^-3^-7μm^2). Exploration history of Fairway is introduced and basin tectonic evolution, petroleum systems, depositional facies and reservoir properties are discussed.
