摘要
文章运用国外词典查询研究的成果,并结合英语教学词典的编纂惯例,论述了如何选择词典和尽快查找生词和词义,解读词典所提供的各种信息,以帮助英语学习者更好地查阅和使用英语教学词典。
Based on the findings of dictionary user researches and in combination with the compilation of the ELT dictionary, this paper describes the main characteristics of this kind of dictionaries, and shows the learners how to select an appropriate dictionary, how to find a new word or phrase and its meaning as quickly as possible and how to interpret information provided by the dictionary in order to help them use the dictionary more effectively.
