摘要
词语的文化内涵,是指词语中蕴含的某一民族或社会团体所固有的或特定的传统和思想特征。“茶”的历史悠久并对我国和英美等国家产生深远的影响,英语中tea是一个有丰富文化内涵的汉语借词。tea与汉语中“茶”的文化意义不完全相同。本文探讨中西“茶”文化的内涵,并对由tea构成的词组进行研究,有助于我们正确地理解和更好地运用英语,提高跨文化交际的能力。
Word cultural connotation refers to the words that contain the intrinsic or specific tradition and ideological features that belong to a certain nation or social organization. ＂Cha＂ has a long history and great influence in China, Britain and America. ＂Tea＂is a Chinese borrowed word which involves many cultural connota tions. The euhural meanings of ＂tea＂and＂eha＂ are significantly different. This article discusses tea euhural connotation both in China and Western countries and explores the various ways to translate the expressions that are made up with ＂tea＂, with the intent to widen our vision and help us understand and use tea-related English properly.
