通过对哈代《德伯家的苔丝》(下文称《苔丝》)中主人公之一安吉尔克莱性格的深刻剖析,并将他与《圣经》中的天使以及希腊神话中的太阳神原型作类比,揭示安吉尔复杂的内心世界和双重人格特征,指出其抛弃苔丝的“可理解性”。
The paper makes an analysis of Angel Clare, a character in Tess of the d＇Urbervilles by Thomas Hardy, with a comparison of him with Angel in the Bible, and Apollo in Greek mythology. It attempts to reveal the complex mental activities and dual personality of Angel Clare, arguing that it is understandabbe for Angel to desert Tess.
