摘要
Chinese ancient artists often used legendary stories as subjects for decorations and designs. But, with the passing ofthe time, these motifs and designs have become blurred and many contemporaries are unable to distinguish what is what.Among them are a jar with a pictorial story in red and green collected by the Yamato Bunkakan Museum and a golden colorlacquer plate with a picture of a banquet collected by the Nanjing Museum. People who studied the origin of the pictures andguessed that the former was a story about a "Hairy Girl" and the latter was sourced from the story about "Hong Fo".The names of the pictures are not correct.
