摘要
本文以历史发展为主线，勾画出了中国八十年代以来图书馆学基础理论研究与应用研究的进展轮廓与分期，并各有侧重地论述了每一个时期的发展重点、主要特征、所取得的成就以及对学科的贡献，并对每一阶段的发展情况给予了适当的评价。
The authors draw an outline of the development of basic theory study and applied study of library science since 1980's in China, along With the subject history development. In this article, the authors divide the development of library science since 1980's into three stages, and lay particular emphasis on development stress, main characteristic. achievement obtained and dedication to the subject, etc. respectively at every stage. At the same time, the author also appraise properly each stage of development.
