摘要
林语堂的文学观念与西方表现主义文论有着复杂的关系,迄今为止的研究资料,只是从文学观念方面概括性地对林语堂与表现主义文论的关系作了探讨。本文就林语堂与表现主义文论的两大代表人物斯宾加恩、克罗齐的事实关系,从文学本体论、文学的功用、文学批评等三方面进行事实清理,并分析了林语堂接受表现主义文论的原因在于他思想上与道家精神相通,他的个性特征,五四时期的时代传统的影响。但他对西方现代表现主义理论知之甚少,其文论缺乏时代感和社会历史性,使他的文论有着明显的局限性。但总的来说林语堂的表现主义文论解构了二十世纪三十年代的主流文学观,继承了“五四”以来提倡个性、主张自由的人文主义精神。
Lin Yutang's literatural conception connected with the Western Expressionism. These research materials have explored the connection of Lin Yutang and Expressionism from the literatural conception. This essay try to explore into facts which refered to the connection from the literatural theory, literatual function and literatural criticism. The causes of Lin Yutang's acceptance of Expressionism may lie in Lin's thoughts were interlinked with Taoist school, Lin's personality and the tradition of the May 4th movement. But Lin Yutang had hardly known the 21st century western Expressionism and his works lacked of the feeling of era and the social and historical meaning. In a word, Lin Yutang's Expressionism literactural conception deconstructed the mainstream literatural conception in 1930'and inherited the humanism spirits of advocating personality and liberty from the May 4th Movement.
