摘要
抑制是一种对无关信息进行主动阻止和压抑的认知加工机制。本文对语言理解中的抑制机制理论模式、一般语言理解和修辞性语言理解中的抑制实验、抑制机制的个体差异及其根源等方面进行综述,指出抑制是语言理解加工中不可缺少的认知机制。
Suppression or inhibition is a general cognitive mechanism, the purpose of which is to attenuate the interference caused by the activation of extraneous, unnecessary, or inappropriate information. It has been found that suppression plays a crucial role in many aspects of language comprehension. The present paper first reviews relevant theoretical frameworks and experiments on suppression in language comprehension at word, sentence, and discourse levels and in comprehension of metaphors, idioms, and proverbs. It then introduces the studies exploring the nature of individual differences in suppression in language comprehension. Finally, suggestions for further research are discussed.
