摘要
在人类语言中,有关颜色的词汇表现出的非凡魅力。汉,英语言中表示各种不同颜色和色彩的词汇都很丰富。由于两个民族的文化历史背景、审美心理的不同,在各民族语言中产生的各具特色的色彩词汇其象征意义也存在风格迥异的特点。这些特点甚至构成了人们对经过引伸、转义以后颜色的崇尚和禁忌。这种不同文化之间颜色象征意义的差异是在社会的发展、历史的沉淀中约定俗成的,是一种永久性的文化现象。我们在注意观察颜色词汇本身的基本意义的同时,更要留心它们含义深广的象征意义。本文试图以颜色词入手从中西文化对比的角度,去分析、探究两个民族历史文化对颜色词的象征意义的影响。
In human language, the unique glamour that the color words demonstrate makes people regard with special esteem. The words of different colors are very abundant in both Chinese and English language. We should observe not only the basic meaning of these words, but also their deep and broad symbolic meaning, because their symbolic meaning often has different characteristics in the two nations Some characteristics even form two peoples＇ unique advocation and taboo of the colors after the meaning of these words were extended or transferred. The difference of symbolic meanings of the colors between Chinese and English stemmed from their different cultural and historical background, aesthetic psychology, and was historically accepted through common practice .It is a kind of permanent culture phenomenon. This text attempts to analyze the impact of the two nations＇ history and culture on symbolic meaning of the color words.
