摘要
21世纪的大学将要承担新的重大使命,迫切要求中国大学进行创新,在普遍提高众多大学的办学水平和教育质量的基础上通过竞争创建一批世界一流大学,正是在这个新的时代背景下,中国出现了一种大学精神衰微现象,这是一个十分尖锐的矛盾。深刻认识现代大学的本质特征及其办学规律,实现一次新的文化觉醒,坚持现代大学的文化个性,探寻中国创建世界一流大学的有效途径,积极探索新形势下中国特色大学创新之路,是当前面临的一项重大课题。
As the universities in the 21st century are to assume a new important mission, it is urgently required to make innovations of Chinese universities and to form a group of world first-class universities through competition on the basis of common heightening of the school-running level and teaching quality of numerous universities. However, it is just in the background of new times, there is a phenomenon of the decline of the university spirit in China. This is an extremely sharp contradiction. It is an important theme confronted with at present to profoundly cognize essential characteristics and school-running laws of modem universities, realize a new cultural awakening, adhere to cultural individualities of modem universities, search for an effective way for China to create world first-class universities and actively explore an innovative path for universities with Chinese characteristics under the new situation.
