摘要
报导东莞理工学院所进行的主题为“以教师为主导,以自主学习为中心”的大学英语教学改革模式及其实验成果.我们的教学理念是:在没有英语环境的国家学习英语,学习能力的培养必须先于交际能力的培养.我们的具体做法是:以培养学生的自主学习能力为突破口,以教师指导下的学生自主学习为教学的中心和重点.在该教学模式的指导下,东莞理工学院在2003年和2004年的应用英语能力B级考试中,通过率分别达到94.55%和91.5%,超过全省平均通过率40多个百分点.
This article is a report on our practice and achievement in establishing a new English teaching mode for our three-year college students. In our model, the development of self-learning ability is taken as the breakthrough in English teaching and learning . Using this model, our university has achieved excellent results in the Practical English Test, with the passing rate being 94.5 % and 91.5% respectively for the year 2003 and 2004, about 40 per cent higher than the average passing rate of Guangdong province.
