摘要
鉴于当今世界医学面临的新形势，研究医学目的是具有全局意义的发展战略问题，也是与人们社会生活密切相关的实际问题。笔者认为，医学目的是“预防疾病，维护健康”，而非“清除疾病，阻止死亡”；医学维护的是健康的生命，而非仅具有生物学意义的生命；医学要研究“生”，也要研究“死”。医学科学只有沿着这一方向发展，才能更好地为人类健康服务。
Abstract Facing the new situations of medicine in the nowa-days world,the study on te aim of medicine is a matter ofoverall importance regarding the stratagy of development,it is also a.practical problem closely related to the peoplesdaily life. It is our points of view that,the aim of medicineix to preven diseases and to promote healty,but not to e-Iiminate diseases and to prevent a person from deat;it isealthy life tat to be promoted by medicine,but not livesthat merely have biologlcal mednings ; the medical sciencesould not only study on “living”,but also concern ablutn'death”,Ouly the medical seience develops towards the di-rection medtioned above,can it provide better services tohumans health.
