摘要
汽车牌照的定位是一个公认的较难解决的图像分割问题,文章提出了一个综合多种特征的车牌分割算法;该算法首先利用颜色信息特征加强输入图像的车牌区域,然后基于车牌区域的灰度变化和纹理特征提出一种垂直边缘检测方法实现牌照与背景的进一步分离,使用数学形态学滤波和区域合并,最后运用投影法确定牌照区域;实验结果表明,该方法取得了良好的效果。
Locating the vehicle license plate plays an important role in the vehicle license plate automatic recognition(LPR) system. An approach based on color-edge-texture information is presented in this paper. Firstly, the input picture is roughly segmented based on the color information. Then a vertical edge detection method is proposed in consideration of the character texture, and a morphological filter is applied to merge candidate regions and remove noise. Finally the projective algorithm is adopted to ~et the plate area in the image. The experiment results show that this algorithm is effective.
