The Montparnasse station was rebuilt in 1965 according to essentially functionalist critena. The renovation of this amenity, launched twenty years later in preparation for the commissioning of the Atlantic TGV network, was essentially required to meet the operational demands of the increased traffic levels. Consequently new surface areas for passengers were also required
