As two major calligraphic schools in China, “Bei Bei” ( Rubbing from A Stone Inscription popular in the Northern China) and “Nan Tie” ( learning handwriting or painting from a book popular in Southern China) has opposed with each other for more than one thousand and six hundred years since “the Chaos in Jia-qing Period”. But now the divergences between them are diminishing and they are moving to fusion. As a result, from the angle of development laws and calligraphic sociality, this paper tries to reveal the fusion feasibility and inevitability of different “Bei Tie” in the context of calligraphy history by summarizing the controversies of different calligraphic learning methods.
