摘要
晚清著名作家王韬所作的文言短篇小说集《淞隐漫录》,是一部继承中国传奇和志怪传统、以文言叙述形式表达作家对中国现代性问题思考的重要作品。作品中的一些跨国恋爱故事,表现了作家一种浪漫的想象、一种愿望的达成,也就是对当时中国现实中现代性、启蒙性和科学精神的缺乏的一种曲折补偿。它标志着中国文言小说最后的繁荣和终结。
Songy＇in Mardu is a classic tale written by Wang Tao, a famous writer in the Late Qing. It inherits the legendary and weird tradition of Chinese classic tales and expresses the modern idea of the author. Some transnational love stories in his works express the author＇s romantic imagination and a wish of accomplishment, which is the compensation of the lack of modernity, enlightenment and science. It marks the last flourishing as well as the end of Chinese classic tales.
