A New Potential Oscillatory System in the Electroreduction of Permanganate Involving Two Kinds of Interfacial Phase Changes

摘要 发现酸性溶液中,高锰酸钾在金电极表面阴极还原时能产生与两类不同界面相变相关联的电势振荡:一类发生在析氢之前,涉及阴极表面二氧化锰固体膜相的生成与溶解;另一类伴随间歇式阴极表面氢气逸出,源于高锰酸钾表面浓度的还原耗尽和析氢引起的对流恢复.更有意义的是,这两类电势振荡分别与循环伏安中的两个交叉环相对应,这是发现这一振荡体系的基本依据. Two kinds of potential oscillations have been found during the reduction of permanganate in an acid solution on a gold disk electrode, and they are related to two different phase changes, respectively, at the interface of Au/electrolyte. One occurs before hydrogen evolution due to the formation and dissolution of solid films of manganese dioxides, and the other arises, accompanying intermittent hydrogen evolution, from the depletion and replenishment of the surface concentration of permanganate by reduction and by convection induced through hydrogen evolution, respectively. More significantly, these two types of oscillations correspond to two crossing cycles, respectively, in the cyclic voltammogram(CV), and we found this oscillator on the CV-based criterion.
