Objective To investigate the changes of serum lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) and creatine phosphokinase (CK) levels in patients with acute tetramine poisoning and their clinical signifieanees. Methods Serum LDH and CK were determined in 38 poisoning cases and 20 healthy control people. Results Serum LDH and CK levels were (378.3±78.7) u/L and (495.3±142.8) u/L respectively in patients with acute tetramine poisoning, which were markedly higher than those in the controls [(102.6±42.4) u/L and (162.3±56.5) u/L]. Conclusion High levels of LDH and CK might be related to the poisoning severity of patients. Contents of serum LDH and CK can serve as useful parameters to reflect the severity and predict the prognosis.
