The relationship between museum and art history is related and parallel.Generally, art museums employ the story of art presented in art history books and arrange their collections chronologically. In fact,by leading visitors directly to works of art, curators' intention and interpretation to works are made clear.Unfortunately, the 'poetics' of museum installation lacks serious consideration at the moment. Therefore, five major recent exhibitions are introduced and analyzed so as to prove that as a whole the museum, being a form of narrative and a 'work of art' in its own right,is over and above the sum of its parts.
