New solid compound of TiOHC5H6O4·H2O was synthesized by the reaction of ti-tanium trichloride with glutaric acid.The molecular structure was characterized by elementalanalysis, magnetic susceptibility,IR and TG methods. TiN was prepared by decompositionof the complex in NH3 at 700℃.
