A diffetence equation model for the intra-specific competition between juveniles and the larger adults is studied.Study has shown that when adult fertility is density dependent there are two fundamental asymptotic states,an equilibrium state in which bith juveniles and adults are present at all times and a cyclic state in which the juvenile and adult genelations alter-nate,for n>1 but near l,here n is the inhetent net teproductive rate,the positive equilibria and the synchronous 2-cycles have opposite stability properties,the equilibtia are stable and the 2-cycies unstable if a<π,while the equilibria are unstable and the 2-cycles stable if a>π.
