Radioimmunoassay for human plasma galanin is established using human galanin and its antiserm. Its precisior, accuracy, sensetirabitility and stability meet the requirements of RIA. Our result showed that the normal plasma level of galanin was 9.36±0.94pg/ml（x±sx n=29） ,and no differences in sex and age were observed. The plasms galanin levels of 117 patients with various diseases showed that the levels were in the following order： diabetes〉coronary arteriosclerotic heart disease 〉uremia 〉healtby people〉hepatocirrhosis〉duodenal ulcer. The values of patients with different diseases, were significantly different against that of the morma] population （P〈O. 05 - 0. 01）, The data of the experiments suggest that the determination of plasma gelanin might be helpful for the diagnosis and treatment of defferent diseases.
