摘要
Since the beginning of2005 ,the security of Malacca Straits has bee n a worldwide focus not only because of frequent occurrences of five piracy and k idnap cases in several months,but also of the attitudes and stands of major pow ers and the littoral countries such as Indonesia,Malaysia and Singapore.Though t he littoral governments express their wills of coping with the serious piracy th reats by themselves,Japan uses the occurrences as a pretext to send troops to a ssist the patrol.The paper,foˉcusing on the difference of collaborative patrol and joint patrol and the formulation of the cooperative mechanism by the three l itˉtoral countries in the present Malacca Straits maritime security,analyzes t heir advantages,shortcomings and potential ways among the littoral countries an d the international community.
