Mark Twain's works is well-known in China, but his late fiction Diaries of Adam & Eve is seldom mentioned in published literary history or anthologies. Adapted from a biblical story, Mark Twain writes the pieces in the voices of Adam and Eve, and touches upon the oldest love story of all time, through which the author pours endless love for his wife Olivia into this delightful comedy. The relationship between Adam and Eve mirrors the problems that men and women are in understanding each other throughout the ages, and the exploration of these eternal themes was the main facet of Twain's writing, so this works still has its profound and illuminating significance for the contemporary people, either man or woman.
