摘要
采集英美文本中动名词用法的大量实例,运用语料语言学的方法,研究动名词的语义特征———“无界情景”和“有界情景”,很有意义。限于篇幅,重点分析以下5种类型:动名词主语与文章的体裁和主题,动名词与核心词,被修饰名词与介词+动名词短语,be+动名词表语,介词by +动名词短语作状语。
It's very meaningful to study the semantic property of gerunds with a large number of examples on the usage of gerunds and by the corpus-based approach. The semantic properties of gerunds are 'bounded' and 'unbounded'. Because of the limited space, the following five aspects are illustrated: the subjects of gerunds and the style and topic of articles; the gerunds and the core words; the nouns being modified and prepositions plus gerunds phrases; be plus gerunds as predictive, preposition by plus gerunds phrases as adverbials.
