With the help of contemporary western literature critical theories: narrative theory and reader criticism, this paper analyzes Shelley's sonnet Ozymandias, a narrative poem, especially the meanings of its various voices. The paper provides a new perspective for the better understanding of narrative poems. From the standpoint of the relationship between the author, the text and the reader, it also analyzes the open themes of the poem.
