通过在文化语境中比较、分析《红字》中丁梅斯代尔与《圣经》中大卫王的犯罪、认罪、直至最终归回的经历,对《红字》所表现的“罪”的主题、神性与人性的探讨、以及人神关系的恢复与重建等进行了一定探究,从而进一步解读霍桑的写作意图。
By comparing and analyzing in culture context the experiences of sin, repentance and final reconciliation with God between Dimmesdale in The Scarlet Letter and King David in Bible, the paper explores the theme of 'sin', natures of God and human, as well as restoration and reestablishment of divinity-human relationship expressed and revealed in the novel, so as to further interpret Hawthorne's writing purpose.
