摘要
根据某领域统一的元数据标准生成的元数据可以用来解决某领域内大量的异构原始数据难以共享、管理的问题。该文对元数据和基于元数据进行管理的理论基础进行了探讨,分析了数据和信息的含义与关系,指出元数据本质上是信息层次的概念,并说明了元数据的内容和结构、元数据的生成过程和依据元数据的管理模式,最后给出一个地理专业领域的实际系统来说明理论的应用。
Masses of original and heterogeneous data in a domain are not easy to share and manage.Metadata of that domain,which are generated in terms of the unified Metadata Standard in that domain,can be used to solve that problem.This paper discusses the theoretical foundation of metadata and metadata based management,analyzes the definition of data and information as well as the relation between data and information,points out that essentially metadata is a concept of information level,explains the content,structure and generation procedure of metadata as well as metadata based management schema.At the end this paper shows a real system,which concentrates on geographic domain,to explain the application of theory discussed before.
