在道光朝经世实学复兴运动中,张穆继承顾炎武、阎若璩等先贤名儒学脉,发扬爱国主义和经世致用精神,致力于学术救世,以其特立独行的学者品格和成绩斐然的学术成果,展示了传统经世实学在社会历史的剧变中开拓创新,向近代新学转变的学术大趋向,在晚清学术史上具有承先启后的重要地位和深刻影响。
In the rejuventating movement of practical academic study in the time of Daoguang,ZHANG Mu,following such famous scholars as GU Yan_wu and YAN Ruo_ju,advocated patriotism and the spirit of practical academic study and devoted his effort to saving the nation in academic way.His unique qualities and versatile academic achievements exhibit the great academic tendency of exploration and innovation in the traditional practical academic study moving toward the modern study at the historical moment of great social changes.ZHANG Mu,carrying on tradition as well as starting a new trend,occupies an important position in and exerts profound influence on the academic history of late Qing Dynasty.
