摘要
以往研究表明一词多义是有系统的。本研究运用认知语言学理论,以英语常用多义词BEFORE为例,对部分中国大学生的词义系统习得进行分析研究。结果表明他们的习得受汉语概念系统的影响。调查提示在大学英语学习的中级阶段,虽然学生的词汇量大大增加,但相关词的义项习得量处于停滞状态。
y of probing into the frequently-used polysemous word BEFORE, the present study attempts an investigation into the acquistion by Chinese college students of English polysemy networks. The findings show that the process of the acquisition in question is influenced by the students' first language, with some polysemes assisted and others suppressed. Statistics also shows that, at certain stages of the acquisition, the number of polysemes acquired stands still. To redress the balance, the study then proposes some solutions.
