19世纪的世博会主要以展示世界各国的科技实力为主题,20世纪下半叶世博会的主题则转向对太空、海洋的探索,上海2010年世博会具有独创性地提出了“城市”“生活”的概念,以“城市让生活更美好”为主题的世博会将为进入“城市时代”的人类社会提供一个展示和交流的平台。
The expositions in the 19th century were meant to demonstrate the technological power of each participant while the theme for those in the second half of the 20th century was about the ex- ploration of outer space and oceans.The shanghai World Exposition 2010 is uniquely centered around the concept of 'city' and 'life'.With the theme of 'cities making life better',this world exposition will provide human beings to be entering the 'city era' with a platform for demonstration and exchange.
