摘要
随着科学技术的发展,人类已进入了信息时代。信息对于人们所从事的各种活动正发挥着越来越重要的作用。而情报检索正是为人们更好地利用信息服务的,所以,它一直受到图书情报部门的重视,也是他们为用户服务的重要内容之一。从某种意义上说,它是开展文献情报服务的关键。新中国成立以来。
During the 40 years,the information retrieval work in China has experienced 4 periods ofpreparation(1949-1956),initiation(1957-1965),disturbance(1966-1976)and resumption anddevelopment(1976-).Now 229 retrieval publications are compiled and published,and 1470000items are reported per year;nearly 50 foreign retrieval tapes have been imported;nearly 70international on-line retrieval terminals have been set up in more than 30 cities,over 500 databasesand 200000000 documents may be accessed,and over 20000 topics have been accessed;more than40 domestic on-line retrieval terminals have been set up,over 4000000 documents may beaccessed;1700 papers have been published,studying mainly in 5 fields like computer retrievalsystems,retrieval efficiency,and standarization.After reviewing the general practice and researchin information retrieval in China,the authors hold that 6 problems,including the strengthening ofmacroscopic guiding,the unified planning and coordination,and the attention paid to the pro-duction of Chiness document databases,are badly needed to solve in the information retrieval workin China.
