作者在西太平洋斑海豹(P.v.largha)的繁殖季节,进入其繁殖区进行考查。主要根据野外观察资料描述,讨论了该亚种在中国辽东湾的繁殖地和繁殖习性。 1、西太平洋斑海豹在中国的辽东湾浮冰上产仔,该繁殖地约在北纬40°30′—45′;东经121°—122°之间。 2、幼兽可分为三期: 第一期,难于人工饲养,死亡率约75％。 第三期,在水中营独立生活,易于人工饲养。 为合理利用资源,应禁捕第一期幼兽,选第三期者饲养。 3、未性成熟的雌兽不能与成熟雄兽合池饲养,否则雌兽会因逃避雄性的追逐而导致死亡。
The study was based primarily on field observations in the breeding season in Liao Dong Bay. The breeding ground and breeding behavior of the common seal, Phoca vitulina largha were documented and discussed.1 、 The white pups are born on the ice floes in Liao Dong Bay. The breeding grounds are situated between about 40°30' and 45'N, 121° and 122°E. To our knowledge, these are the most southern breeding ground of P.v.largha.2 、 In Liao Dong Bay, pupping occours from early January to middle February with a peak in middle and late January. 3、 The newborn pup has white embryonic coat and can't swim.It is quite vocal. Rectal temperature of the young is 36.5° or 37℃ and skin temperature is 32° or 33℃.4 、 The life of the pups may be divided into three periods:The first period: The pups with a white lanugo, 6 to 18 days old, inhabit on the ice floes and live on; their mother's milk. The pups can't swim. The weight of its body is under 22 kilograms. They are quite vocal. It is difficult to raise in captivity and the death-rate is about 75%.The second period: The pups begin to moult and enter the water. They are 16 to 27 days old. They are vocal too, and weight 20.5 to 32 kilograms.The third period: The pups are weaned, live in water and become no-nvocal. Their white coats have moulted. They are 24 to 28 days old. These pups may be raised easily in captivity.5、 The parents and their single pup lived in a small family and the parents took care of their pup, especially the female untill the pup was weaned.
