The Iran-Iraq War is a historical event of great significance which happened in the 1980s in the Middle East. This paper focuses on analyzing the origin of the war and its prolongation and the American and the Soviet’s policies on the war. This paper also emphatically explores the war’s historical heritage, particularly its effects on the following Gulf War and Iraq War.
