摘要
从断裂力学的理论出发，建立了刀县切削破煤的基本力学模型。分析表明，刀具的切削阻力与其切削厚度的关系并非线性关系。这一结论与Ｏ＇Ｄｏｇｈｅｒｔｙ早期实验所得出的结论基本一致，并且作者从理论上给出了切削阻抗的新定义。
Based on the theory of fracture mechanics, a basic mechanical model of coal cutting is established. The analysis shows that the relation between cutting resistance of cutters and the depth of cutting was non-linear. This conclusion is in conformity with that of test made by Mr. O'Dogherty. And new definition of cutting resistance is given by the author.
