A Quantitative technique for determining high alumina in silicate mineral materials and ceramic products by using competitive coordination differential speotropliotometry was described in the present paper. By this method the neasurabie range of alumina is increased from 0～5%up to 10～80% which is impossible to be carried out using ordinary spectrophotometry. This method eliminates the interference of Fe￣(3+),Ti￣(4+), Zr￣(4+) etc,succ-essfully and has many advantages,such as simple operation, high sensitivity and small absslute error(0.3%).
