摘要
中国古代地图的绘制有自己的理论和方法,自成一个体系。此体系在东方曾经产生过较大影响,并与西方的制图体系有过接触和交流。中外地图的交流,可能以唐代中国与印度和中国与日本之间的交流为最早。唐代以后,时问较早而且又比较重要的是宋代中国与日本,元代中国与西方、中国与朝鲜以及中国与爪哇的交流。明万历和清康熙年间西方地图知识的传入和相互交流取得的成果,是中外地图交流史的两大里程碑。
The making of ancient Chinese maps has its own system both in theory and in methodolgy. This system produced a great impact in the Orient and came into contact with the Western system of mapmaking. The intercourse of maps between China and India and between China and Japan was the first to appear and took place probably in the Tang Dynasty. Thenceforth, relatively earlier and more imporant intercourses happened between China and Japan in the Song Dynasty, and between China and the West, Korea and Java in the Yuan Dynasty. The two main milestones in the history of the intercourse of maps are: the achievements won through the transmission of Western cartographic knowledge into China and mutual exchange in the Wanli reign (1573—1619) of the Ming Dynaasty and the Kangxi reign (1662—1722) of the Qing Dynasty.
