摘要
Ground-penetrating radar (GPR) is an important technical advance in archaeological prospection. The present paper first introduces its method, principle, development and instruments, and then discusses the processing of its data and the interpretation of its diagrams. This prospecting technique has gained certain results in archaeological work at the ruined Hanyuan Pavilion in the Darning Palace of the Tang period, the Shangqiu Laonanguan site, the palace ruins of the Shang city in Yanshi, and the Shang and Zhou tombs at Qianzhangda, Tengzhou. Based on the practical application of the GPR technique to different types of archaeological sites, the author sums up various aspects of the knowledge of this method, such as survey strategy, instrumentation, data gathering, processing and interpretation, and prospecting capability.
