摘要
The ruins of the Wadian site are situated on hills in the east and northwest of Wadian village, Huolong township, Yuzhou city, Henan, and cover an area of over 10,000 sq m in the total.Excavation in 1997 revealed there 9 house-foundations, 2 ash-trenches, 76 ash-pits and 6 tombs. Among the abundant objects unearthed are the stone axe, knife, arrowhead, pestle, chisel, adze, and grindstone; the jade spade, bi disc and bird; the bone arrowhead, fishhook, chisel, awl, hairpin and oracle bone; the pottery ding tripod, jar, yan steamer, zeng steamer, incised-grooved basin, jia tripod, gui tripod, he tripod, gu cup, vase, cup, pot, lei pot, basin, bowl, vessel cover, trileg dish, ring-foot dish, dou stemmed vessel, vat, pellet and spindle whorl. Stratigraphical evidence and the typological study of the objects show that the ruins can be divided into three periods and dated to the late Wangwan Ⅲ culture.
