在确定阿富汗塔利班政权为军事打击的目标后,美国对其南亚政策进行了大幅回调,将"扬印抑巴"改为"重巴顾印",在一定程度上扭转了美印关系急剧升温、美巴关系每况愈下的局面.随着反恐战争的进一步深入,如何平衡美印、美巴关系,将是摆在美国面前的棘手问题.
He elaborates his view points in his article that identifying Afghan Taliban regime as a military striking target, the US substantially readjusted its South Asia policy from 'Supporting India and Restraining Pakistan' into 'Valuing Pakistan and Considering India.' To certain extent, the US turned down the upswing trend of US-India relations and reversed the downward trend of US-Pakistan relations. With the deepening of anti-terrorist war, how to balance US-India relations and US-Pakistan relations would become a knotty problem for the US.
