摘要
文通过对梅勒《裸者与死者》发表时及发表后的文化语境的思考 ,发现其受读者青睐的主要原因在于小说具有适时性、预见性及普适性这三方面内涵。文章指出 ,这三方面的内涵不仅在小说出版时 ,甚至在今日都与读者的“期待视野”相吻合 ,从而使小说具有经久不衰的魅力。
In view of the cultural contexts at the time of the publication of Norman Mailer's first novel The Naked and the Dead and thereafter, the paper finds out that the then and lasting popularity of the novel is largely due to the three implications it conveys: i.e. timeliness, predictiveness and universalism. A study of the novel illustrates that these implications are just within the horizon of expectations of the then and thereafter readers.
