摘要
地理信息系统（GIS）的应用在各行各业迅速发展，受到技术、社会两种动力的促进，也受到技术和社会因素的制约。在国内城市规划行业，GIS的实际应用还处于初始阶段，其中有专业和技术上的特殊性，也有体制、管理、人才上的限制。作者列举了GIS在规划领域的若干典型应用，探讨了扩大、深化GIS应用的有关技术、社会问题。
The application of Geographic Information System (GIS ) is rapidly developing in different fields. promoted and restricted by technological and social factors. In urban planning of China, practical application of GIS is still in initial stage, due to the limitations from planning subject itself as well as those from technology, institution, administration and man power Several typical application cases are introduced in this paper and relevant technological and social problems are discussed for further developing and deepening GIS application.
