摘要
基于对等结构的系统往往利用元数据(例如路径索引)来方便搜索。这些元数据必须随着对等网的动态特性保持随时更新以提高搜索效率,但是现有的技术对网络带宽的利用是低效的。文中提出了一个用于元数据分发的框架———短时聚集调配(TRIGGER),针对“TRIGGER”的几个问题提出了自己有效的解决方案。为验证TRIGGER的实用性,选取了一种路径索引的查询系统作为应用进行了实验,实验结果说明,TRIGGER为自治的对等结构系统提供了一个有效的机制。
Peer-based systems employ metadata(e.g.,routing indexes)to facilitate searching.These metadata must be kept up-to-date to keep up with the dynamism of the peer-to-peer network for searching to be effective.Unfortunately,existing techniques are bandwidth inefficient.This paper proposes a framework for metadata dissemination called the transient aggregator(TRIGGER).It presents the solutions to several interesting design issues for TRIGGER to be effective.It also presents results of an extensive performance study on using TRIGGER for maintaining routing indexes that confirm its practicality.The results show that TRIGGER provides an effective mechanism towards autonomous peer-based systems.
