摘要
"六书说"是最早的关于汉字构造的系统理论,过去研究汉字学的人都把"六书"奉为不可违逆的指针。"六书说"在建立起权威后逐渐变成束缚文字学的桎梏。后代学者因此对其提出了不少批评。"'六书说'能给我们什么?"的质疑似乎大大减弱了"六书"的影响。实际上,"六书"理论对文字学及其他学科至今仍有重要的指导意义:识字教学质量的提高可以通过"六书"理论的指导得以实现;汉字词义系统的探求亦大多能通过"六书"对字形结构的分析找到理据;比较文字学的研究方法需要"六书"理论的丰富……种种新探索使"六书"理论在现代依然体现独特的价值。
The Chinese Hexateuch Theory, as the earliest systematical theory on Chinese characters structure, has always tended to be regarded it as the hard - and - fast guideline, however, it is probably becoming the shackle to prevent the philology developing after its authority formed, and as a result, bringing about many criticisms from coming scholars: the challenge of ' What effect could Hexateuch Theory give us?' seems greatly to have weakened its functions. Actually there is a still essential direction on philology and other subjects from the Hexateuch Theory and its todays distinct practical values; to improve the quality of character - knowing teaching, to seek evidences for probing the system of meanings of character, to enrich the research - approach of comparative philology
