摘要
The pre-Qin-Dynasty filial ethics is the basic Confucianist value creed established by Confucius and further supplemented by Mencius, Xuncius and others. During the Han Dynasty, the ruling classes reformed, and made use of it, and gradually legalized it, so that its connotations have greatly changed and, in many a respect, have deserted against the original intention of the pre-Qin-Dynasty Confucianists to become the very root of the foolish filial ethics in later ages.
